About

I believe in creating quiet in our noisy world.

I am a seeker and a finder
a pay attentioner
and a lover of everyday beauty

My life is centered around:

Beauty and creativity
Stillness and simplicity
Home and garden

Healing and trauma resolution.

This path I'm walking is one of love and reverence for the smallest gifts we've been given, and for the details that make our lives joyful and complete.

What you'll find here are my musings on healing and finding wholeness, cultivating stillness, the beauty that surrounds us, simplicity and creativity. (And lots of flowers – I'm slightly obsessed) :)

Thank you for being here, I'm so glad you are.

Lynne

If you’re after a few more details.....

Please note a content warning here (and throughout the website), I mention trauma, different types of abuse and some painful things that happen to humans, including me.

 Hi!

The Contemplative Creative is me….Lynne Wilson. I’m all about personal growth and healing and while I do a lot of different things in the name of getting well and trauma resolution what I do here primarily is express myself.

If I'm honest; what I'm doing is creating a life that works for me. A life that feels right and feels good for where I am now. It's not just about making art, or taking photos, although those things are definitely a part of it. It's also not just about healing and trauma resolution. It's about creating a life that makes me want to jump out of bed in the morning because I'm excited about life.

In The Creative Act: A Way of Being Rick Rubin says…

“Expressing oneself in the world and creativity are the same. It may not be possible to know who you are without somehow expressing it. “

That.

After a lot of life spent ignoring/suppressing my creativity I’ve decided to go all in. In an effort to heal I’ve tried it all – all except simply being me. That’s what I’m doing here. I’m simply expressing myself in the world.

If you read through some of my posts you’ll learn that I’ve overcome a lot of trauma –  lifetimes worth. The details aren’t that important now, what is important is learning to live the best life I can now and for me that means expressing myself and being honest. I’m after quality of life here and I know no other way to improve the quality of my life (and maybe yours) than by being at the intersection of creativity and spirituality.

While I hope that focusing on this particular combination will ultimately prove healing for me, in the bigger picture it’s truly more about learning how to be happy and feel good about myself again.

I’m sharing my story here, along with photos, art and writing, and I invite you to join me on this journey. I’d love to hear about you too. Please reach out at

P.S. I’ve been off work for the last several years, but getting back to work is really important to me. I’m hopeful that it’ll happen before the end of the year. I’m a certified creativity coach, a certified master spirit life coach, a certified mindfulness and mediation teacher and a reiki practitioner, (with a few other bits in there too.) I also have a certificate in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy from The Embody Lab, and I’m currently working on their Mind Body Coaching program. If you think working together would be as amazing as I do send me an email at the above address and let’s talk!
